Shout Outs
- A big Shout-out to our incredible volunteers! This week was especially busy with Grades 3 & 4 swimming, EES attending Stampede School, and the Healthy Hunger’s Mucho Burrito lunch. Thank you to everyone who took the time to support these activities and help ensure everything ran smoothly. Your time and commitment make a meaningful difference for our students and school community.
- Shout-out to SHSES Volunteers for organizing the upcoming fundraising events for our school, including the Spring Plant Fundraiser and the Spring Dance. We appreciate your time, effort, and dedication in supporting our school community.
Hats on for Mental Health
For the week of May 4 - 8, 2026, Battalion Park School will be recognizing Mental Health Week, a time to build awareness, understanding, and support for mental well-being. As part of this important initiative, we will be participating in “Hats On for Mental Health” on Wednesday, May 6.
Students are encouraged to wear their favourite hat to school as a fun and visible way to show support for mental health awareness.
Student Nutrition Reminder
At Battalion Park, most classes have a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Please ensure your child comes to school with enough food to last the entire day. On Fridays, the school day ends at 12:41 p.m., so lunch is not required. However, please be sure to send your child with a substantial snack to keep them energized throughout the morning until they return home.
While the school does have emergency snacks available in the office, we are noticing an increase in students running out of food and feeling hungry—especially as the weather warms up and students are more active.
Thank you for your support in helping keep our students energized and ready to learn.
Dress for the Weather
Please ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather each day. Conditions can change quickly, and we often experience multiple seasons in a single day. Students go outside daily and need to be prepared to stay warm, dry, and comfortable while playing.
Return Borrowed Clothing Please
With the arrival of spring, our school grounds can become quite wet. We have recently supported many students with a change of clothing. If your child has borrowed items, please wash and return them as soon as possible.
It is also a good idea for students—regardless of grade—to keep a spare set of clothes at school, especially pants, during these wetter months. We have limited sizes available, making it even more important for students to come prepared.
School Dance
The SHSES has rescheduled the Spring Dance. Let's GLOW Dance will be the evening of May 28th! Details coming next week.
