Shout Outs

  • A big thank you to Mrs. Lachapelle for organizing our assembly and the Terry Fox Walk/Run.  Students showed great participation and had the chance to build understanding and endurance during P.E. classes leading up to the event.
  • Thank you to all the volunteers who supported the Walk/Run; it was great to have extra help with marking the boundaries, tracking laps and cheering on the students!
  • We appreciate the ongoing support of our families - a special shout-out for not parking in the staff lot. This helps us keep students safe every day.
  • A huge thanks to our Alien In-Line instructor for leading fantastic skating sessions; the students really enjoyed their lessons.
  • Thank you to all the skating volunteers who came to help students get on their equipment. Thanks to you, the kids had more time to skate!

Scooters and Bicycles

  • Scooters and bikes are welcome at school.
  • Students are responsible for locking up their equipment outside at the racks.  Note, we cannot store them in the office.
  • For safety, students must walk (not ride) scooters and bikes while on school property. We’ve had injuries caused by riding on school grounds, so thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.

Visitors On School Property – Student and Staff Safety

  • For safety, all visitors must check in at the Main Office (CORE) upon arrival.
  • No adults may be in the building or on school property during the school day unless they have signed in at the office.
  • If you wish to speak with your child’s teacher, please arrange an appointment by email. Teachers are not available for meetings or updates during drop-off and pick-up times unless previously scheduled.

Thank you for supporting a safe and secure school environment.

OurSCHOOL Well-being Survey

Next week Battalion Park School will be participating in an online school perception survey for students called the OurSCHOOL Student Survey. This anonymous survey is completely voluntary for all CBE students.

CBE’s Education Plan prioritizes student voice and well-being in our decision-making processes.  Responses from this survey are used at the system and school level to recognize and improve what is necessary for students to feel safe, welcome, and cared for when at school.

Grades 4-12 students provide feedback on:

  • sense of belonging
  • positive relationships
  • anxiety
  • feeling safe at school
  • life satisfaction
  • general health
  • orientation to well-being
  • goal-oriented
  • self-regulation
  • cultural awareness of others

Additionally, Grades 6-12 students provide feedback on:

  • depression
  • self-esteem
  • cultural awareness of self

Demographic questions are also asked on this survey for norming purposes. These are:

Grades 4-12 general (age, gender, Indigenous status, immigrant status, home language).

Grades 6-12 specific (grade repeater, reasons for changing schools, disability or medical conditions that limits participation in school activities or learning.
