Staffing Update

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Graeme Black to our Battalion Park staff. He will be teaching Physical Education alongside Ms. Lachapelle.

Winter Concert

On Thursday evening, our EES, Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 classes presented ‘Cookies – The Musical’. The students have been learning lines and rehearsing diligently with Ms. Ho, their teachers and even some Grade 5 buddies to prepare for this night and by all accounts the concert was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came to watch our children perform; they were very excited and thrilled to have you there!

School Spirit Days

We are celebrating the last week of school with a different Spirit Day each day and carolling on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Our Spirit Days will be:

  • Monday – Ugly Sweater Day
  • Tuesday – Holiday Hat Day
  • Wednesday – Holiday Charater Day
  • Thursday – Red and Green Day
  • Friday – Pajama Day

On Thursday, our EES and Kindergarten classes will be hosting the Winter Solstice Assembly.

Art and Cards for the Residents of Manor Village

This week, all students at Battalion Park contributed original art works and cards with holiday greetings to be given to the residents of Manor Village to brighten their holiday season. This is the fourth year students have participated in this School Council initative and we are very proud of the effort they put into this work as they experience the joy and satisfaction of giving back to our local community.

Lost and Found

Please have your children look for any missing items prior to Winter Break. Parents/Guardians are also welcome to come and look for any items that may be missing from your child’s wardrobe. We will be donating any items remaining to charity on Wednesday, December 18.

Help Us Raise Awareness About Playground Fundraising

Some homes may have already received a fundraising door tag from SHSES. We need additional volunteers to help distribute these tags in your neighborhood. Please note, this is not a door-knocking campaign - our goal is simply to raise awareness in the community about the aging playgrounds that need replacement. 50 door tags can be done in 30 minutes!

The Parent Society is fully responsible for funding the necessary playground replacements. If you're unable to volunteer at this time, there's still an opportunity to make a 2024 tax-deductible donation to https://shses.ca/

Please see the attached PDF below for the door tags being distributed.

Thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at chair@bpschoolcouncil.ca.
