Literacy Week

The students participated in a variety of school-wide literacy events this week; solving word puzzles, investigating poetry, participating in ‘Drop Everything and Read Day’ and reading our favorite books to our buddies. Literacy Week culminating today with a school spirit day, ‘Dress as Your Favorite Book Character’, and an assembly by our Grade 1 students; where students shared their favorite books and why they liked them, their favorite poems about Grade 1 and then performed the play The Three Little Pigs. We had a school read aloud of The Giving Tree. The assembly concluded with a whole school sharing of the characters student's had dressed up as. We had so many interesting books represented. Thank you to our Grade 1 team for a great week and everyone who participated in this school spirit event!

School Council Meeting

Thank you to those people who attended our January School Council Meeting. We were able to show pictures and express our thanks for the wonderful first day of skiing and snowboarding for Grades 4 - 6 and share that all students Grades 1 - 6 used our snowshoes for the first time this week. Both of these were provided through our School Council and the Signal Hill School Enhancement Society fundraising efforts. Our next School Council will be February 28. We hope to see you there!

CBE Education Plan Survey

The CBE is gathering input to help inform the new Education Plan for 2024-27. If you are interesting in providing feedback, the Education Plan survey is open until January 31. More information can be found on the CBE website.

Alberta Education Assurance Survey

The Alberta Education Assurance Survey is open to all parents/guardians across Alberta with students in Grades 4, 7 and 10. If you have a child in any of these grades, you are encouraged to complete the survey. The completion date is March 1. More information can be found on the CBE website.
