Drop and Go Bottle Drive on Thursday
School Council is hosting it’s last bottle drive on Thursday, June 13 from 8:00am – 6:00pm at the Signal Hill Community Association Parking Lot.
Student Council Book Drive on June 25
Our Student Council is hosting a book drive on June 25 to provide all students with an opportunity to exchange books they have read for new books, and have some new reading material for the summer.
Students can bring in books they wish to trade in on June 25. A Grade 5 or 6 member of the Student Council will record how many books each student brings in then that student will get to select a corresponding number of new books. For example, if a student brings in 3 books they will be able to select 3 new books.
Any books leftover by the end of the day will be donated.
It will be so exciting for students to know that their books will bring joy to someone else.
School Council
We had a good turn-out at our last School Council meeting of the year. There was a positive energy and lots of ideas shared for next year. Thank you to those people who attended in-person or online. Our first School Council event of the 2024-25 school year will be a ‘Back to School’ picnic on September 5. The first School Council Meeting will be the AGM on September 11. Just a reminder, the School Council will send out meeting invitations to parents who would like to 'save the date' for the upcoming meetings in their google calendar. If you would like to be included in our mailing list for 2024-2025 please register your email id here.
Make a Difference to Your Child's Experiences at BPS
Both the School Council and the Signal Hill School Enhancement Society are in need of volunteers including Vice Chair, Secretary and a variety of committee members. These two groups provide many of the learning enhancement opportunities for our students as well as community building activities at Battalion Park School. Many of these roles only require a small amount of your time each month. Please consider joining either of these groups to make a difference to the experiences your child has here at Battalion Park as well as nurture the sense of community for all of our families. You can reach the School Council at volunteersbps@gmail.com and the Signal Hill School Enhancement Society at shses@bpsschoolcouncil.ca.
