Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation

Today we renewed our school commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action. During the 2024-25 school year, we focused on the following two actions:

  • Heart – To Belong: Identify places across curriculum where Indigenous ways of being, belonging, doing and knowing can be weaved in and then design learning tasks.
  • Body To Do: – Work with and learn from Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, artists etc., to learn about and engage in Indigenous arts, singing, dancing and cultural practices in culturally relevant and meaningful ways.

Building on this work, we are focusing on the following two actions for the 2025-26 school year:

  • Heart – To Belong: Identify places across curriculum where Indigenous ways of being, belonging, doing and knowing can be weaved in and then design learning tasks.
  • Mind – To Know: Design and offer student and staff learning tasks that intentionally activate the spirit, heart, body and mind.

Please see our website for a copy of our commitment.
