Introducing the Gratitude Jar
On Tuesday, February 27, the Kindergarten and EES classes hosted an assembly teaching us the importance of kindness and why we wear pink. During this assembly they also introduced us to the Gratitude Jar. The Gratitude Jar is located in the office where students and staff can drop off notes recognizing each other for their acts of kindness. We then read these notes of gratitude during the morning announcements. We have had some very thoughtful notes already this week.
2024 School Planning Engagement
We held our 2024 School Planning Engagement Session at the February 28 School Council meeting. The topics covered during the presentation were:
- School Development Plan
- How the school development plan sets the overall focus and direction for a school to improve student learning outcomes
- School Budget and Fees
- How the school budget provides funding to implement our school development plan
- School fees and why they are necessary
We also watched this short video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning.
Whether or not you were able to attend that meeting, we would like to invite all parents and guardians to share your perspectives around our planning for the 2024-25 school year through a short online survey open from now until March 17, 2024.
Absence, Late or Leaving Early
Just a reminder that sending an email to battalionpark@cbe.ab.ca or calling our attendance line at 403-777-7187 ext.1 will enable our office staff to complete attendance in a timely manner each day. Thank you for your support with this important job!
