School Council Flyers 

Flyers from School council will be coming home with your child today, Friday, October 11.  It is a request for parents to sign up for information from our amazing School Council and opportunities to volunteer and help make Battalion Park the great school it is.  The date is to return the sheet by October 11 which will now be impossible.  Please return these sheets by next Friday, October 18.  We apologize for this error as it was an oversight by the office. 

Weekly Class Updates 

Please make sure to check out all the updates in your child’s weekly message from their teachers as there are a number of exciting learning opportunities for Battalion Park students.  Some of these include the opportunity for all our Grade 6 students to attend City Hall School, our Grade 5 students learning form the CTV weather person Danielle Savoni who presented weather in the classroom and our Grade 4 students had a guest speaker, Kyle Edworthy form the City of Calgary to educate them on bear safety.  What great opportunities for our Battalion Park Hawks! 

Additional Grade 5 Class 

We are excited to announce the addition of Ms. Chiu to the Battalion Park family and Grade 5 team.  We had very large classes in Grade 5 and we were fortunately able to divide three larger classes into four smaller ones.  Change can be difficult at this point of the year, and we appreciate all our students and families adjusting to these new classes with resilient mindsets.  We are looking forward to the benefits of the four smaller classes for the remainder of the year. 

Terry Fox Update 

Thank you to all volunteers that helped Marshal and allowed for a successful Terry Fox Run! We appreciate your time and energy. Thank you to all that contributed towards fundraising for the Terry Fox Foundation. We raised just over $725 towards cancer research and towards keeping Terry's Legacy relevant! 

School Photos  

To receive free shipping to the school, the deadline for ordering school photos online is the end of day Friday, October 11.  If you would like photo retakes done, please check the RETAKES box on the picture form and return it to the teacher.  Photo retakes will be done on Tuesday, November 5.   

School Council Halloween Dance 

Reminder of the 2024 Halloween Dance that will be held on October 24.  Families with K-3 students come from 5:00 – 6:15 and Grades 4-6 come from 6:30 – 7:45. Help is needed for this event to occur, including donations to put together treat bags for purchase.  Please drop off donations at the school office by October 21.  There are several ways our wonderful parents can help, so please sign up for volunteer spots through Signup Genius.
