Building a Respectful School Community

Creating a safe, caring, and welcoming school community is a shared responsibility. We invite families to review the CBE Student Code of Conduct with your child(ren) and discuss what it means to show respect for ourselves, others, and our school.

A few questions to guide your conversation:

  • Respect for Self: What choices help you stay safe, take responsibility, and be ready to learn?
  • Respect for Others: How can your words and actions help everyone feel included, valued, and respected, even when we have differences or disagreements?
  • Respect for Our School: How can you help care for our shared spaces, materials, and learning environment?
  • Speaking Up: What can you do if you see someone being treated unkindly? Who is a trusted adult you can go to for help?
  • Learning from Mistakes: How can you take responsibility and make things right when your choices affect others?

Thank you for partnering with us to reinforce these shared expectations and help every student feel safe, respected, and a sense of belonging.

No Stopping Zones

Families, a reminder to please avoid dropping off your students in front of the Core Building.  This area is reserved for our school buses.  We have seven buses that drop off and pick up students each day along with buses for field trips on specific dates.  The No Parking and No Stopping area in front of the school is clearly marked with City of Calgary signs along with large sandwich boards.

Also, please avoid using the Staff Parking Lot for student drop-off or pick-up.  This is to ensure the safety of all students as the lot is small and congested and there are students travelling along the sidewalk at the mouth of the lot.

Morning Bell Times and Attendance

Please help your child start the day on time by keeping our morning bell times in mind:

  • 8:28 a.m. – Doors open: Students may enter the school through their designated door and prepare for the day.
  • 8:36 a.m. – Warning bell: Students should head to their classrooms and get settled.
  • 8:38 a.m. – School start bell: All students should be in class and ready to learn.

Attendance is taken at the start of the school day, so being in the classroom by 8:38 a.m. is important for accurate attendance and helps students begin learning alongside their classmates.

School doors close at 8:38 a.m. Students arriving after this time must enter through the main entrance and check in at the office before going to class so their attendance can be updated.

If you know your student will be absent or late, please email BattalionPark@cbe.ab.ca or call 403-777-7081 and leave a detailed message.

Thank you for helping us keep attendance accurate and ensuring a smooth start to the day!
